Good news from London yesterday, according to a Bookseller report by Catherine Neilan: The mayor of London, Boris Johnson, in a keynote address at the London Book Fair, declared that “I don’t think Google is going to destroy publishing.” Johnson, whom Neilan notes “has previously acted as shadow arts minister,” and whom MobyLives takes quite seriously because he has a Beatles haircut, explained “that as long as there were delays on public transport people would need books to read.”

Dennis Johnson is the founder of MobyLives, and the co-founder and co-publisher of Melville House.
