Don’t be misled by previous reports about the London Book Fair that make it sound as if British publishers were a bit stodgy about their electronic future. According to a Publishers Weekly report, the coolest and maybe best-attended event was the one hosted by Cannongate that showed off a particularly non-stodgy publishing future: the Society of Young Publishers event called Promoting Creativity in Publishing, “a kind of hip Power Point presentation, wherein publishing professionals had seven minutes to explain who they are, what they’ve done, and how they’re promoting creativity in publishing.”
Now, through the wonders of modern science, you too can attend this “hip” event — even if you’re not young! See below. All I ask is that you old people don’t tell anyone I let you in.
Dennis Johnson is the founder of MobyLives, and the co-founder and co-publisher of Melville House.
